It seems like just yesterday, I was sitting in front of my computer, trying to figure out how to react to the first gameplay footage I'd seen of Dead Rising 4. On one hand, you have Willamette, a Christmas theme, and some other cool stuff. But on the other hand, you have no timer, an increased amount of wacky-ness, a big focus on exosuits, and worst of all, the original protagonist returning to the series, only in name, while the developers pat themselves on the back for bringing back everyone's favorite character. Frank West has covered wars, we all know that, but the developers don't seem to care. Capcom Vancouver convinced themselves, at some point, that Frank needed to be changed, or at least that's how they're making it sound. I have my own theory on why he wasn't asked to come back, but now's not the time for speculation. Now is the time for me to say thank you. Thank you for all of your signatures and support! Now, I know I've mentioned people being blocked on social media before, but I've recently read posts on reddit that had people claiming this was untrue. I'd just like to show you a comment I posted on the official Dead Rising facebook page the other day. Many other people were discussing Rotolo on the post's comment section but I guess I took things too far because my comment was blocked almost immediately. I'm not saying I, for sure, shouldn't have been blocked but I do just want to make it aware to people that they ARE doing this. http://imgur.com/a/59JGV Today, Capcom Vancouver had a live Q&A with developers about Dead Rising 4. I intended on making an update, to let everyone know about it, but I had a busy day, and forgot to do so. Fans showed up, asking all kinds of questions, including the big one. http://imgur.com/a/gIuD7 Now, this answer, much like the other answers regarding the voice change, bothers me. He says Frank is much older, as if, somehow, time has only passed in the video game universe, and not in the real world. People age too, you know? Rotolo and his voice are ten years older than they were in Dead Rising, so I don't really understand this reasoning. The James Bond comparison is a disappointing one as well. The people who made the Bond movies never would've recasted Sean Connery, Roger Moore, Pierce Brosnan, or Daniel Craig if any one of them had WANTED to return to the series. In fact, I'm fairly certain they tried getting them all to come back as many times as possible. Another thing, the James Bond movie series has been going for 53 years. If it had gotten to a point in the Dead Rising series, that Rotolo couldn't or didn't want to return as Frank then I would completely understand changing something like this but it is not the case and it's a disservice to Terence Rotolo and fans alike. This answer that was provided is more of the same nonsense that us fans have been hearing since Capcom Vancouver started talking about all of this and it's time to show them that we're less interested in this new Frank West and Dead Rising 4 because of it. This brings me to my final segment of this lengthy update. I've worked fairly hard the last couple days on a very special video supporting Terence Rotolo, this petition, and hopefully the voices of many of us fans that would like to see the real Frank West retun in Dead Rising 4.
