Cancel The Lights Fest Manchester

On the 28th July, US company The Light Fest is planning to release sky lanterns from Buxton Raceway. These are a proven threat to wildlife and livestock and are a fire risk. The nearby area of Saddleworth moor is already ablaze after the recent dry weather, and to send lit lanterns into the sky could damage many more miles of the Peak District landscape. We petition The Lights Fest and Buxton Raceway to cancel the event and ask that local authorities do not give them permission to go ahead. The fire crews on Saddleworth moor are already pushed to capacity, don't allow a foolish business plan to further endanger local residents, animals, and landscapes.

We live in a time of amazing environmental awareness - for this event to go ahead would be a step in the wrong direction. Don't let it go ahead!
