Any Australian who has ever employed a lawyer knows how expensive they are. We don't expect them to be racists, sexists, fraudulent or ignorant of the law. We pay professional negligence insurance indirectly and if they prove to be negligent, we should be rightly compensated. I have learned the hard way that only in Australia do lawyers enjoy an exclusive protection from being sued or having their profit driven insurance companies pay compensation.
