My final request: we have made our target, which is astonishing, but the success of the campaign has meant we have to buy a lot more t-shirts and tote bags and have then printed than we expected. If ANYONE were kind enough to be able to offer any further gifts it would make a massive difference. And I promise we will never ask again unless the boat is going to sink orherwise. Or projections suggest that on the Granary Square mooring, even with the fees entailed, we should be able to sustain the floating bookshop for the foreseeable future. AND run a substantial literary festival next year, have monthly poetry slams, book launches (first one is on the 13th of this month) and of course lots of interesting, beautiful live music performances. And whether you were able to help us out or not, thank you all so much again for the support you offered us last year - you did literally save the Bookbarge and my inherent pessimism about people power and the dedication of readers to books and bookshops lies in tatters. I find out so inspiring that the very technology that everyone aid would kill bookshops and books should have been the conduit that has brought all this about.
