Kwey, During the November and December 2016 Senate discussions regarding Bill S-3, An Act to Amend the Indian Act, I listened intently when the issue of unknown and unstated paternity was discussed. I heard something that concerned me and rightly so - the inappropriate use of gender neutral language that denies the reality that it is mothers who live with the fallout of INAC's Unstated Paternity policy. In line with Mary Eberts, call that there is the need to keep community people involved in social justice issues and the need for change, I completed a discourse analysis and published a short article in Journey Magazine (Peterborough) - a community based online effort that covers women's issues. Here is the link: https://journeymagazineptbo.com/2017/03/09/valuing-discourse-senators-discuss-inacs-unstated-paternity-policy/ Miigwetch for following these petition updates. Lynn
