Seals and other predators in the North Atlantic are getting contaminated because of plastic. Over 75% of fish tested by researchers were discovered to be contaminated by plastics. Predators which are already overfished such as seals are hit even harder because the fish they eat already has plastic within leading to a plastic build up in their bodies. The plastic causes the blood to be poisoned and can lead to birth defects and cancer. I feel that our governments have not done enough to protect the ocean's wildlife including seals because little has been done to clean our oceans of the waste that we put there.
