I'm a 14 year old girl who has a love for horses greater than any other, and I want to bring people like me together to make a change in today's world. I have horses of my own and they are amazing animals, they have taught me many important things over the years and I want the rest of the world to see exactly what I see, beauty, grace, power, trust and love. Join me to Defend Horses WorldWide Over 100,000 innocent horses are slaughtered each year in the U.S, sometimes even hundreds a day and don't forget other countries that also abuse and slaughter, and we ask ourselves why? Why is this happening? After being inhumanly slaughtered these horses are shipped over seas to countries like Japan and Europe for some fancy dinner. Most of them were unwanted by unloyal owners or they couldn't run fast enough on the track. But does that really give us humans a reason to take their innocent lives? I don't think so. Over the past hundreds of years horses have given mankind more than we see they can offer. They have helped us battle in war, win first place in a competition and most importantly they gave us companionship, trust and loyalty. If it wasn't for horses we wouldn't be who we are today, they have changed the world more than most of us can see and we repay them like this? Someone once told me that if you look into the horses eyes you can see the spirit, the hope, the life, and the dreams they hold, why would we want to take those away from them? Each and every horse born is worth something, they have a talent, they have everything we have, just a more beautiful form. Some people may agree and some may disagree but there is something about the outside of a horse that is good for the inside of a person. Let's take therapeutic riding for example, many people who have disabilities ride horses as therapy, and this has changed lives of people all around the world, so if your horse is old or retired instead of being inhumane why not have him as a therapy horse for disabled children? Saving one horse at a time can change or even save a child's life. Knowing what's a horse is capable of can be scary yet it's beautiful to know that he can change a life with one look into his eyes.
