But that doesn't mean we've won. He also says Minister Joly will be issuing a detailed statement in the coming hours, detailing Canada's position. Let's keep increasing our numbers. Please keep sharing the petition! I will continue to write to Trudeau and Joly, to keep the pressure on! Let's try to get a strong statement from the Minister.
My last email to Trudeau, sent at 1:32 p.m. today, stated:
Dear Prime Minister,
We are now at 504 signatures on the petition.

Even though Canada is not a party to the ICJ case, you can take a strong position on the law. I know you have a huge legal department, as I litigated many cases with them. You have many experts on international law. They know that this court case is a travesty.
Particularly because Canada is not a party, the sub-judice principle does not apply to prohibit Canada from taking a position. You can tell the world that the genocide convention was never intended to be used in this matter. You can tell the world that it requires the intention of a state to destroy, in whole or in part a racial, ethnic or minority group. And that in your view Israel is clearly not attempting to do that. It is attempting to root out the small terrorist leadership of Hamas that continues to aggressively attack it.
You can even express the sadness and regret that we all feel that, in order for Israel to accomplish its legitimate goals in defending itself, so many innocent Palestinian civilians have died. You can even call for Hamas to surrender immediately so that the bloodshed can end.
Please provide your clarifying statement soon, and show real leadership and strength, of which Canadians can be proud.
