I hope this email finds you well. I am delighted to share some exciting news we have been waiting for since we launched our petition last year.

Thanks to our collective efforts, the Minister of Immigration and Citizenship has announced a new measure to support Iranian nationals with temporary resident status and their family members. This measure aims to relieve those facing arbitrary detention in Iran and help them with their immigration needs in Canada.

As you may recall, our petition called for the deployment of a dedicated immigration support line, faster processing, extended stay as workers or students for those in Canada temporarily, special travel authorization for family members, and waiver of the application processing fee. I am thrilled to inform you that the government has taken the majority of these into consideration.

To provide more information about the program, we will host a webinar to discuss the details and answer any questions you may have. Experts will lead the webinar on immigration law and policy, covering topics such as the open work permit stream, special travel authorization, etc., as soon as further details are published.
