Hi folks,
BC's new MLAs and cabinet was sworn in recently.
While many of the key decisionmakers remain the same, they face a larger opposition going ahead, and the political landscape has changed.
What hasn't changed is the damaging impact of BC's spousal cap on persons with disabilities, as highlighted by Maryam's story: PWD In BC: A Rigged System?
The BC NDP claimed they would address the issue going ahead, and they must be held accountable. Maybe the close call will be a wake-up call.
The Greens, as well as the BC Conservative critic of Social Development and Poverty Reduction, MLA Tara Armstrong (tara.armstrong.mla@leg.bc.ca), must be also raise their voices about this.
Let's reiterate our concerns to them, our MLA, and the Minister of Social Development and Poverty Reduction - Sheila Malcolmson.
Thanks so much for all you do in your community.
