Petition signer Olivier Appaix posted the following comment: "Youth soccer coach for 15 years, player for over 30 years, using turf and grass field at Danehy almost every week I can testify that there's nothing like grass. Turf is fine in winter as snow melts and it does not freeze. But we are so happy to get back to our old grass field, even if it's a bit bumpy. Turf would cost 1m $ per field, when grass needs a little mending every year, patching here and there. #2 and #3 and Danehy do need a little grass job to get in better shape. #1 was redone a few years back, went bad, and is now in pretty decent condition. No more turf please. One's (plus one at Russell park) is enough! Too many hazards with turf surfaces. .... Those who are planning for turf should play on grass and see that there is no comparison. Spend the money wisely. Spend it on grass. Thanks."
