From: vanBeuzekom, Minka Dear Janet, Bianca and Seth, Thank you for starting this petition and helping to raise awareness about the issue of artificial grass. I too am horrified by its contemplated use in Danehy Park. I can confirm to you that the city is committed to doing this for the 'improved' maintenance reasons that are pointed out in the petition.... As far as I know, the artificial turf would only be used on the playing fields but that's still too much in my opinion. The petition reached 86 signers this morning so this is clearly an issue that the people of Cambridge care about. I'm happy to bring it up to the Council for deliberation at our next meeting on February 11th. Positive votes from five councillors can reverse the decision by the DPW to proceed with their plans to lay the artificial grass. Minka vanBeuzekom your Cambridge City Councillor
