Apply to join Cambridge Working Group for Harvard Square Kiosk!

Dear Friends and Neighbors, On Monday night, the Cambridge City Council voted to support Landmarking the HSQ Kiosk; Thursday night the Cambridge Historical Commission, followed suit and voted to support a related study – a victory for its preservation. The city is looking for members for a Working Group who will help address the kiosk’s future use. Neighbors, business owners, and citizens are among those they will hope to include. The task force will run roughly 6 months from January on. Part of this is also ensuring that the Working Group is in place before there's additional hiring of consultants. Illustrious founder, Gladys "Pebble" Gifford, is leading the charge. Check out an article dating to 1991. In other news, tomorrow, Monday Nov. 7, City Council will address a proposal by Councillor Jan Devereux, to close Memorial Drive on Sundays year round (not jus tin the summer). For those who like to bike, run, walk, skate, or cross-country ski on Memorial Drive in the late Fall and Winter months please email the city council with your support (or non-support) by Monday: council@cambridgema.gov.
