Thank you for your support for curriculum reform and the preservation of Honors classes in our Culver City schools
Since the September 6th meeting we have:
1. Widely shared the video and discussion points from the Town Hall meeting on social media
2. Raised awareness about the upcoming CCUSD School Board election and which candidates support Honors classes through social media and "Save Honors' lawn signs throughout Culver City
3. Received an additional 200 signatures on the petition to support Honors classes

However, despite these efforts, CCUSD leadership including the current School Board, Superintendent Tran, and CCHS leadership Principal Cooper and Dr. Tarvyd have provided no information regarding whether the new English classes are effective, how they will monitor progress, and whether additional Honors classes will be eliminated
We therefore propose a series of regular meetings to discuss progress and develop next steps to try to improve education in our schools
First meeting will occur on Zoom on November 6th at 7PM with the following agenda items
1. Brief review of the history of our efforts and our progress to date
2. Final encouragement to vote and encourage friends and neighbors to vote Nov 8th
3. Discussion of approach to request CCHS administration to designate remaining Honors classes within the UC system
4. Review of students' experience with the current 'College Prep English' 9th and 10th grade classes and development of a formal survey to share our aggregated experience with CCUSD leadership
5. Open time for brainstorming and discussion
