Dear Parents:
We have met with Superintendent Tran. He shares our concerns that without adequate support, the idea of increased classroom heterogeneity is less likely to be successful. While he was clear that the decision was not his to make, he was open to the idea of pausing on the plan so that adequate supports can be put into place. Superintendent Tran also agreed that we need an evaluation and monitoring plan to gauge the success of this initiative. With this in mind, we have asked him to schedule a Townhall to permit discussion of these important issues. If he is unable to arrange this, we plan to hold our own parent lead Townhall and invite him and other decision-makers to attend.
Please email Principal Cooper (lisacooper@ccusd.org), the Board (boardmembers@ccusd.org), and Superintendent Tran (quoctran@ccusd.org) to voice your support for this idea - that we need to listen to parent input, pause the plan, put supports in place and have a clear plan for evaluation ready before any major curriculum changes are made.
Thanks again for your support, stay tuned for more updates!
