With your help we made the news - now let's take our message to national cabinet!
Firstly thank you to everyone who signed and shared this petition, it has been a great response that is timely and has surprised many. If you could continue to share the petition with family, friends, social media and online groups, we’d greatly appreciate that as the higher the numbers get, the more attention our message receives.
This is particularly important with the emergency national cabinet meeting scheduled for Monday - let's get as many supporters as we can to show our governments we need to have masks indoors to reduce transmission!
Your huge support has enabled us to publicise and utilise the petition in a number of ways:
- we have used the results in talking points for lobbying state Health Ministers, Premiers and CHOs around Australia this week with a coordinated campaign of phone calls, emails and letters letting them know about the thousands of Australians who are calling for urgent action on masks
- daily updates on Twitter which have been widely shared and tagging a number of key politicians
- we had gratifying success in changing the conversation on channel 7 news last night which used the petition’s graphics in its lead story & included a comment from a mask advocate (see link below). We are getting some press interest as well. Click here to see the story.
