Greetings to everyone who has supported this petition for reform! I greatly appreciate all of everyone's support for change.

Here is a current update in the meantime:

I am currently in the process of drafting a legislative act to protect minor's rights while still getting the help they need & keeping Missouri’s mental-health system compliant with youths rights. Prefiling period starts on December 1st which is the date I am aiming for to present this Act! 

I have published a Missouri Youth Mental-Health Safety & Rights Survey in efforts to gather in-depth accurate public input on how minors are evaluated, admitted, and supported during psychiatric crises in our state. Your responses will directly contribute to data that will be presented to policymakers (with your consent which will be asked later in the survey) as part of the Act I am preparing to introduce.

The survey takes approximately 10–15 minutes, and every response helps establish a clearer picture of the challenges families and minors face. Your participation will play a meaningful role in shaping stronger protections, clearer procedures, and more consistent standards for Missouri’s youth mental-health system.

I strongly encourage you to also call your State Senators and Legislators to put public pressure on how this Youth Mental Health Care Protections Act needs to be taken seriously and passed.
