Dear supporters, 

Thank you very much to each and every one of you who have signed this petition. As you already know, the aim here is to put pressure on the Government of India to declare violence against women and girls a national disaster. This will help change public opinion in a way that law reform alone cannot accomplish. This is a deeply embedded and historical social issue that must be neutralized and dismantled by addressing the harm it has done.

However, we cannot do this if the petition doesn't garner enough signatures. The goal is to surpass 1,000 signatures before the end of the year. Please share this email/the petition with your friends, family, network, or anyone else who may be interested in supporting our efforts on this issue. There is great strength in numbers and collectively calling for accountability and justice. These are the things that make advocacy work.
