THFC Tiny Ears
31 May 2017
Today is a big day for all of us! It is officially the end of May – however tinyEARS is going to run past the finish line and continue for one more week, because the momentum is still spreading. At the moment we have over 11,500 online signatures and hundreds of paper based signatures coming in from our networks across Canada, too. Thank you all so much for everything you did to share this petition and contribute to the momentum. On June 6, 2017 MP Peter Julian will formally table our petition in the House of Commons. In the fall we will follow up with the Minister of Health, Jane Philpott to ensure that we keep the pressure on. Today our campaign is included in the National Post Health supplement which means that 896 thousand Canadians will receive a hardcopy of Beckett’s story of how the health care system in Saskatchewan failed to notice his hearing impairment until he was two years old. You can watch Beckett’s story here: https://www.facebook.com/TinyEarsTHFC/videos/519700961533981/ We hope, with this final push we will be able to reach 15,000 signatures before the petition is tabled next week. That would be amazing, wouldn’t it? Can you help us by asking your network just *one more time* to join you in signing? The share buttons are on this page, with just a couple of clicks you can continue to be a voice for babies who can’t yet speak for themselves. We will keep you informed of progress as we now work with government to create the lasting change that is needed in Canada, for Beckett and babies just like him. Thanks to you we have given all babies in Canada a strong voice! Yours for better hearing health, John Pepperell Chair The Hearing Foundation of Canada
