Now more than ever, we need Pope Francis to go to Gaza. 

This is a long email because the need is so great.

The International Criminal Court of Justice delivered its almost unanimous ruling that South Africa made a plausible case that Israel is committing genocide in Gaza. Among the acts that the court proscribed is that Israel "take immediate and effective measures to ensure the provision of humanitarian aid to civilians in Gaza."

The same day as the verdict, Israel alleged that 12 employees of UNRWA, the main agency, and major employer in Gaza, which operates hospitals, schools, employs doctors, murses, teachers, aid workers, janitors, and more, were connected to the attack on October 7.

A number of western governments immediately, without noting that 12 employees out of 30,000 employed by UNRWA in Palestine, 13,000 in Gaza, is a tiny percentage and would not in any rational analysis, or any other conceivable scenario, lead to honorable actors cutting funding for an entire agency, especially an agency that provides food to a population that is being deliberately starved.

To offset this outrageous act by several Western governments, including the US, UK, Canada and Australia, we, the people, can step in where our governments have failed. Please go to the UNRWA USA site,
