OUSD Community Advisory Committee for Special EducationOakland, CA, United States
May 10, 2023

We have been asking you to call on OUSD to stop expelling disabled students from their schools. Thanks for your amazing outpouring of support! SOON WE WILL REACH 1000 SIGNATURES!

We also asked you to speak at the May 10th OUSD School Board meeting in support of the "Resolution to Promote School Stability and
Belonging for Disabled Students in OUSD."

We learned yesterday that the School Board president DID NOT place the resolution on the agenda for tonight's (5/10/23) meeting as we thought it would be.

We will gather TODAY, Wednesday, May 10th at the site of the School Board meeting, the Great Room of La Escuelita Elementary School, 1050 2nd Avenue, Oakland at 5:30 pm. We will call on the School Board to schedule a Special Meeting in the next 1-3 days to vote on the resolution.

IF THE MEETING DOES NOT TAKE PLACE due to conditions related to the OEA strike, we will meet in front of Dewey Academy, 1111 2nd Ave, Oakland, CA 94606 from 5:30 to 6:30 pm to discuss our next steps. Look for the Disability Pride flags.

You can also help us by writing directly to the School Board directors and administrators named in this petition AND you can write messages of support in this petition.

We will continue to defend the rights of our children to school stability and belonging! We will oppose and resist the ableist practices that are hurting our children! We thank you for defending disabled children in OUSD!
