Michael Martin’s comment that the government "should have held off" on initial fuel excise cuts, therefore, effectively admitting he would intentionally let people struggle longer to make a bigger announcement is cynical political manoeuvring during a cost-of-living emergency.

Not only did he admit that fuel relief was delayed for better optics, while families choose between heating and eating, he’s now in Berlin campaigning for himself and his future role in the EU. It’s blatantly clear that his true mandate comes from the institution that defines his career, rather than the people of Ireland.

His policies are not driven by the democratic will of the Irish people, but by the Eurocrats he’s now meeting to discuss further restrictions on our digital freedoms and internet access.

"This movement has almost reached 100,000 citizens in days. A staggering 1 in 8 people who see this mandate are signing it. This isn't just a petition; it's a representative sample of a nation that has had enough."
