Update 29/09/2026 - Appointing a convicted fraudster to Party Leadership

Following the abrupt resignation of the previous chair under financial scrutiny, Darren Major was made Reform UK North East Lincolnshire Branch Chair. Public court records from Grimsby Crown Court show that in November 2013, Mr Major pleaded guilty to six counts of fraud by false representation for a scam targeting North East Lincolnshire Council's Empty Homes Grant scheme to the tune of £50,000. Allowing someone convicted of defrauding our own local council to run the administrative branch of the ruling political group highlights a severe lack of vetting and leadership by Cllr Freeston.
