As constituents and Canadians, we expect our elected officials to act with integrity, consistency, and respect for democracy. MP Marilyn Gladu’s recent decision to cross the floor and join the Liberal Party represents a serious breach of trust.

Notably, she has previously condemned floor-crossing by MPs and publicly advocated that any MP who switches parties should seek a by-election to allow voters to have their say. By choosing not to follow the very standard she once demanded, she has disregarded the principles of accountability and transparency.

We, the undersigned, call on MP Marilyn Gladu to resign her seat and allow her constituents the opportunity to decide whether they support her new political alignment. Canadians deserve representatives who uphold their commitments and respect the democratic process.
