Clarification of the information in the last update sent out April 10, 2025 about S4292 - SAVE Act. 

Mike Lee Introduced the Save act first in 2023 118th House session on May 8, 2024.  This year it was reintroduced by Rep. Chip Roy TX in the House and has passed the House.   It is now up to the Senate to debate and vote.  The Senate requires 60 votes to pass this legislation.  Republicans hold a 53-47 majority.  It will require 7 Democrats to pass the Senate.  There should be no Dems that support this bill, however there were 4 in Congress.  

It is critical that we write our Senators expressing our opposition to the SAVE Act, even though Curtis and Lee are both Republicans... We cannot allow them to pass this type of legislation free of pushback.   Alert family and friends to call and write their Senators in other states as well.

Lastly, we should forge a united front amongst Democrats against this in the Senate so that it cannot pass again.  Write Minority Leader Chuck Schumer regarding creating this solidarity among Dems.
