I've just been notified by RSHQ that they intend to investigate themselves over the Curragh Mine lowwall failure — the same incident that nearly took lives and caused lasting trauma.
Let’s be clear:
This is not an independent investigation.
It’s a whitewash.
The very agency responsible for enforcing safety laws is now reviewing its own failings — while ignoring clear evidence of:
Dangerous fault lines like the Jellinbah Fault reinterpreted right near our work area
Methane hazards
Seepage, depressurisation, and known risks to slope stability
All of it brushed aside.
I have just 7 days to respond to RSHQ.
I will be formally rejecting their offer — it’s the wrong investigation, run by the wrong people.
👉 We need a full, independent inquiry.
One that:
Holds regulators accountable
Forces transparency from Coronado Global Resources
Protects future miners from preventable disaster

RSHQ must not be allowed to cover up their own failures. The truth matters. Lives matter.
Thank you for standing with us.
