The defense attorneys and prosecutors, as well as the judge are all lawyers. They frequent the same profesional and social circles outside of their profession, if not they all give each other profesional courtsey anyway. I believe cases are won and lost many of times outside of the courts and probable on the golf course. I believe through a series of favors, kickbacks, bribes or just outright intimidation that is what makes the wheels of justice turn. Family court is a joke!! In my opinion, I don't think they even follow any laws here in Michigan. Men are made to fight blindly in a corrupt system that is riddled with anti-male hostility, vague policies/ procedures and hearsay. They make things so compilcated for that you feel your only protection is to hire legal counsel and when you do you fall in to their trap, the trap of appearing to provide you justice. The truth is nobody cares about family's or the children , it all boils down to money and how much they can get out of you. Women these days demand equality, but until divorce/family court is balanced, you'll continue to see a rise in violence towards women and a decline in marriage. I pray more social workers, attorneys, secretary, judges, and all those who know first hand will speak out about the corruption. My ex was sexually abusing our son. I was told by the judge who gave me a restraining order to get an attorney. The attorney said, of course you want to divorce him, you don't want to stay married to him. I said well this is about protecting my son. I was talked into filing for divorce and then all of the investigators believed I made it up because I wanted a divorce. It has been a living a hell the past 4 years. I would have been able to protect my son more by staying married. Family court is a trap that you can't get out of until your children are grown. Avoid court at all costs. Our only hope is to educate attorneys about the frequency of child sexual abuse. We the people need to step up and out and push for reform in our court systems.
