Dearest friends And Supporters- I am excited to announce that we have garnered the support of two assembly members. They have informed me that we need the support of at least 10-15 more members before the issue can be addressed in the state assembly. We have a lot of work ahead of us. I have begun reaching out to more members of the assembly in hopes of garnering enough support to drive this issue forward. Aaron Persky is dangerously biased towards college athletes. Below I have linked the most recent example of Perky's leniency towards these violent athletes going awry. We can not allow this man to keep his judgeship when the price is the safety of the people of Santa Clara. With that I am announcing that I will no longer be going to California to stage the sit ins. I would like to use the money donated to fund a non profit. This nonprofit hopes to provide a safety net to survivors during their trials. During the course of this campaign I heard from several survivors about the financial hardships they faced during their trials. From lost wages, legal testimony of medical professionals, and legal representation to loss of scholarships and employment due to the trauma. The financial fallout for survivors is huge. The fallout is worse if the survivor was traveling, as cases will be held where the crime occurs which incurs even more of a financial burden. We are hoping to work with survivors across the country to get them the help they need in one of the hardest moments of their lives.
