Dearest Friends and Supporters- We are saddened to inform you that according to ABC, the leader of the recall campaign, Michele Dauber believes that requiring 21 year old Brock Turner to register as a sex offender for life may be “too harsh”. Michele is quoted as saying “NO one should be defined by their worst decision for the rest of their life”. We can't help but wonder if her “close” friend Emily Doe, feels the same? Emily will have a life sentence as a result of Brock’s “worst decision”. Still, Dauber claims that after 10 years Brock should be given the opportunity to prove he is rehabilitated and be allowed to remove himself from the registry. We STRONGLY disagree with this statement. According to RAINN Two out of three rapes goes UNREPORTED. This means no one ever hears about them. When ⅔ of rapes are unreported how will Brock prove he is rehabilitated? How will we know for sure? If he rapes again and the victim has the courage to report it only 63 of 1000 sexual assault reports lead to an arrest, even less only 13 are actually referred to prosecution. How will he prove rehabilitation with any certainty? I for one am unwilling to risk the lives and futures of innocent people in hopes that a convicted rapist has been rehabilitated. Sharika and I would like you all to know that these statements do not reflect our beliefs and we are in no way affiliated with the recall Persky campaign. We believe that Brock should register for life. His neighbors and coworkers deserve to know that they are in contact with an unremorseful rapist. They deserve to protect themselves and their family members accordingly. Brock deserves to face the consequences of his actions for the rest of his life as Emily Doe will have to suffer the consequences of his decisions for the rest of her life We are continuing to collect funds for our sit-in campaign.
