Dear Friends and Supporters- We have some amazing news. Judge Persky will no longer be presiding over criminal cases and will move to civil court at his own request. Although it is not his resignation, for now, he will no longer stand in the face of rape victims and pity their rapist. For now, He will no longer let persons pleading guilty to child pornography off without jail time! This is a huge win! Congratulations to all of you. That being said, there is nothing stopping him from returning to criminal court later on in his career. This decision on his part is an attempt to mitigate his losses and keep his career. Bias toward the privileged is terrible for the civil courts and is already rampant. We can certainly celebrate this win but we must continue to push for his impeachment or recall. Judge Persky must be removed from his judgeship to ensure that his bias never weighs down on another victim while their abuser gets off with a slap on the wrist. We can not allow him to hide behind this move until we forget. We will not forget and we will continue to move forward towards our goal.
