Animal cruelty, poaching, abuse & abandonment, neglect... it has increased at such a high level, it is sickening. The number of animal abuse & cruelty cases reported in the media each year reaches nearly 2,000. Over half of them involving dogs, the most common breed also being Pit Bulls. There are over 700 U.S. cities and 40 states that have banned Pit Bulls, known as BSL, the only reason being based on their looks and reputation. This "repuatation" that has been looked upon Pit Bulls reflect on the owners who have forced, trained, and bred them to fight in an agressive manner. Now "all" Pit Bulls are looked at as dangerous based off of the owners fault. The most common type of cruelty is neglect & abandonment. The number of animals which include rabbits, mice, rats, dogs, cats, monkeys, and many more, killed in laboratories for testing each year is 100,000,000. Along with animals that are put into shelters due to  neglect & abandonment, about 2.7 million animals are euthanized a year. It is also a fact that over 50% of the world's fur comes from China, in which millions of dogs and cats bleed to death and are skinned alive. This petition also includes better treatment for farm animals as well. 90% of chickens that are bred specifically for meat produce, due to genetic manipulation, have trouble walking from the unnatural manipulation done to them to forcefully make them grow quicker to produce more eggs or in other cases, milk. Most of factory farm animals are shoved into the tinest spaces that they can barely move or turn. Poaching has increased at such a high rate, giraffes are now vulnerable to extinction. With 100 African Elephants killed daily due to poachers, there rates, along with so many others such as tigers, rhinos, lions...etc. are decreasing rapidly. Circuses and rodeos...the never-ending list can go on. Animals that are used in circuses and rodeos are put under harsh treatment (s) for people's own entertainment. Circus animals are abused, hit with whips, and chained as their so-called "training", which is not training.  Do not support circuses & rodeos by not participating and going to them. People are the problem to all of these situations.  Is this enough information provided to help show you how much the animal cruelty industry has increased and still is continuing as of today? The only way to truly see a difference & decrease regaurding animals, is to a have a much stricter penalty activated. The law consequence for animal cruelty in the United States currently, can be defined as a misdemeanor or felony with a fine up to $1,000 and / or imprisonment up to a year. Intentionally torturing or killing an animal can be prosecuted as either a misdemeanor or felony with a fine up to $5,000 and / or imprisonment up to 5 years. This is obviously not doing anything, as animal cruelty rates have and are continuously increasing daily. Please sign and share this petition to try to create a new harsher punishment for these innocent animals that are needing help on a daily basis.
