Thank you to all parents who have vaccinated their children! Opponents of vaccinations are organizing, and we need to make sure our voices are heard. Our culture; through news stories and other kinds of storytelling, emphasizes individualism to such a degree that it's often hard for people to see how some choices impinge on the health of others. That's one reason it's been easy for people to emphasize personal choice over protecting the community. Herd immunity is based on real science and can be achieved through sound public health policies like SB277. Wednesday, April 8, is the first hearing on SB 277, in Sacramento. We need your help to show Senators that there is strong support for boosting vaccination rates by passing SB 277. Can you attend the hearing on April 8? You won't need to testify, just stand up and show that you support the bill. RSVP here: http://www.vaccinatecalifornia.org/calendar The anti-vax people are fearful about this. I don't understand why, because the science couldn't be stronger. But they are. Our elected officials, however, have a duty to legislate from solid evidence, not from fear; and they have a duty to protect their constituents, and keep them safe, especially children. Fear does not give people a right to make the world a more dangerous place for the rest of us. Thank you for sharing this petition so that we can deliver more signatures, and if you are able, please show your support in Sacramento on April 8th. Thank you to all parents who have vaccinated their children! Our son’s name is Rhett, and we give a Damn! –Carl & Jodi Krawitt
