Hi all! This petition was created by my students who are in 6th grade and learning about ocean conservation. After a year long project learning about local marine mammal wildlife, and human caused impacts, they were driven to create a petition online to create more marine reserves. By signing this petition, you're not only advocating for more marine reserves, you're empowering young students to create their own change in the world. 

This is their message:

This petition is to try to create more marine reserves for the marine mammals because lately many marine mammals animals have been entangled with trash and fishing equipment. These marine reserves will help because they don’t allow fishing in certain areas. They limit the amount of human impact as well, so that there will be less trash on the beach preventing animals from eating it. If you sign this petition, you will be asking for California to create more protected marine reserves for marine mammals. You will also be helping us save these animals from human caused impacts.
