This petition and our public support rallies at all SIX of Eddie's Okotoks courthouse appearances kept the Crown Prosecutor's office honest in undertaking a complete review of the evidence. Evidence which they finally admitted yesterday provided COMPELLING EVIDENCE that Mr Edouard Maurice did nothing wrong and all charges were being withdrawn! The cheers and tears of joy within the small courtroom were simply joyous. Google Eddie Maurice, every news outlet in Alberta led with a story of Justice being done yesterday. Eddie and Jessie reached out to me this morning to personally thank me for so quickly jumping to Eddie's defense even before he was charged and still incarcerated. And even more they asked me to join them in reaching out to all those who showed them support on Social Media, who contributed to the legal defense fundraising, who attended the 6 appearances to usher them in and out with undeniable community LOVING support and of course to all 2834 of you who courageously signed this petition asking for All Charges To Be Dropped. They feel that this public support certainly played a large role in the proper outcome being realized yesterday morning. And in very unselfish fashion, they encourage all of us to join them in fixing the broken system so that others put in Eddie's position by criminal activity have clear rights defined and supported without fear of being wrongly accused for simply defending oneself and one's loved ones.
