Stop Beechwood Road Library from closing down

0 have signed. Let’s get to 100!

Beechwood Road Library was purpose - built as a library in the 1930s.

The Children's and teenage area where upgraded circa 2003 with SureStart monies. Some other minor internal work has upgraded some of the Library shelving, But the Library needs further refurbishments more public computers are needed. WH-FI is installed.

There are some pockets of deprivation in the catchment area the Library serves and empty sheltered housing developments in close session and other initiatives.

The Library has a readers group and there is some contact with local primary schools.e.g LEE MOUNT,MOORSIDE,and support material from the local history group (Although not its meeting point)

There is poor signage from the main road but very regular bus services to Halifax and the Library has excellent adjacent parking.

The nearest other Libraries are  Mixenden (2 Miles) or Akroyd (1Mile)
