Is your Valentines chocolate breaking the worlds heart?

Is your Valentines chocolate breaking the worlds heart?

I’m asking as many people as possible to Love your world this Valentines - boycott rain forest destroying chocolate retailers - buy Fairtrade and check whether the producer is using “dirty beans” https://amp.theguardian.com/environment/2017/sep/13/chocolate-industry-drives-rainforest-disaster-in-ivory-coast
West Africa has only 20% rainforest left, loosing 80% to deforestation.
SumOfUs ran a successful campaign which helped get the following result .....
Great news: Cadbury, Ferrero and 20 other chocolate companies just committed to ending rainforest destruction in West Africa.
This is a huge step in our fight to save the rainforest.
But we can’t stop here. The current commitment only applies to West Africa. That means cocoa traders can simply move their illegal practices to other countries. We cannot let that happen. Will you help share the love this Valentines and buy your chocolates only from retailers who aren’t involved in destroying the heart of our world, our rain forests. Love your world first this Valentine and buy ethically to help change how cocoa is produced.
Consumers have massive power over retailers operating choices and production methods, by boycotting this Valentine and asking retailers if their chocolate products contain cocoa from West Africa or any deforested area. That way you’ll help send a clear message to all chocolate makers that you’re watching for them to keep looking to end production practices which harm our eco systems and instead send love to our world this Valentines and for the future.
this is a list of chocolatiers signed up to end deforestation - feel free to contact them via their websites and social media pages and ask if they use “dirty beans” ask them to feel ❤️ For our by ending deforestation practices now.
