After my kids & I were targeted & filed on for eviction, I submitted a fight back! My kids and I have been living in this apartment since 2010, I have been living here since I was 10. This was a rundown property but still a place that I called home… since this company has taken over I’ve been treated as if I have no rights, no voice and no choice but I won’t back down!!!!!!!
In Ontario alone, there are thousands of tenants facing similar challenges every day. According to a 2018 report by Advocacy Centre for Tenants Ontario (ACTO), one in five households spend more than half their income on rent, making them vulnerable to eviction and homelessness.
It's time we demand change! We need stricter accountability measures for corporate landlords in our province. This includes better enforcement of the RTA regulations and harsher penalties for those who violate them.
