https://www.theguardian.com/film/2023/jun/03/lightyear-flop-job-cuts-disney-pixarHello everyone! After taking some time to recharge, I've decided to move forward with the petition.
Despite the hurdles we face, there are important issues that need addressing. I believe that providing people with something enjoyable and uplifting is the best approach, especially to remind everyone of the joy and excitement that Disney and Pixar brought us in their early days, rather than what they have become now.
I want to highlight how both Pixar and Disney created memorable stories and characters that truly connected with children and families, and many of us grew up loving these shows.
I recognize the doubts surrounding the petition process, but my goal is to demonstrate that there is significant interest in seeing the show officially released in high definition through legitimate channels, rather than relying on bootleg copies. This could also positively impact Disney's current standing.
The effort put in by the talented teams of artists, animators, and other creatives behind this show deserves recognition, especially considering the lack of support from a certain former Pixar executive.
This situation highlights their success, particularly when Pixar's own endeavor, Lightyear didn't resonate well, leaving even the most devoted fans questioning its direction. Instead of delivering an epic space adventure, we were presented with time travel and a watered-down version of Captain America.
