You should also know that I'm very aware of what a petition is, and what it isn't. It doesn't replace hard work, ingenuity or networking efforts. It doesn't get rid of legal red tape. And it certainly doesn't paint a building on its own. It's merely a first--but very important--step to getting something like this off the ground. So trust that while this petition has been circulating, I've also been having conversations with many people at all levels of government, nonprofit initiatives, local businesses, art programs, and more. Everyone I get in front of--every single person--quickly sees the potential and wants to help out, which is so energizing.
