Each day, 500 million straws are used by Americans alone. Since these straws take 200 years to degrade, they end up polluting our environment and killing our precious animals! It’s time for our legislators to do something before it’s too late! I propose that all plastic straws become banned in fast food restaurants and replaced with paper straws (or another eco friendly alternative). Our planet is suffering, and it’s time that we make bigger changes! My goal is to influence the Pennsylvania Legislature, if changes are made I hope to influence other citizens in other states! Since it’s easier to enact change through state governments rather than Congress. but if by some chance this blows up to a national level, my goal is to influence change throughout the country in Congress!
