EDIT: Apologies about yesterday's update - the link to the video about Brian Clark was not saved. If you are interested in viewing and or sharing, the link has been added.
Also, I am currently in the process of reaching out to the ACLU to see if anyone has reached out to them to start an investigation - in 2001, the jail was investigated because of inhuman restraint systems. If this is something that would interest you, you may get their contact info at the ACLU contact page.
I am also in the process of collecting articles about inmate suicides, deaths, and abuse. If you know of any stories that have made it to the news, please email me! Thanks again for your support!

Brian Clark, 44, Colorado Springs, passed away the week before the 24th, when the video of the brutality that ended his life was released. While it was fortunate that the severity of this incident was captured on camera, this cannot always be the case. With so much more corruption and abuse of power being perpetrated within this jail, it has become necessary to force guards to wear body cams at all times. This may not be the solution to all of these problems, but it is a measure that must be taken in order to stop the unnecessary loss of life which seems to occur on a regular basis.
This video is very graphic and you do not need to watch it, but this is why we need more eyes in our correctional facilities. This happened in a county jail, where people who have not even been sentenced are being held. This could happen to anyone, who had been arrested for any reason. The guards are often described by inmates as the types that like to abuse power - there have even been stories of sexual abuse, but of course these somehow do not end up being reported to the media (or they are ignored).
If you know anyone that might be willing to sign this petition, please share. We need to let Colorado Springs know that we are not the kind of people who will allow our loved ones to be treated so poorly while in jail.
