URGENT!
For over seven years, our community has been calling for an emergency shelter for those caught up in the homelessness. The old fire station on Forrest Avenue has been identified by the South West Development Commission as a facility that could house 30 homeless people.
In 2024, the local Council voted unanimously to advocate for a homeless shelter. In 2025 a petition signed by 2000 people from Bunbury and surrounds was presented to Parliament.
The Bunbury community has shown it wants an emergency shelter for those who have become homeless. But still, our State government continues to resist our community’s need for an emergency shelter.
Let’s work together to make this happen!
