We attended the Parks and Recreation meeting on Monday and received a small update. Namely, the project remains on hold and the City will meet with the American Ramp Company next week, then after a list of options are presented to the City Manager we will hear more about what those options are. The City Attorney told us as much last week, so nothing much new here and he told us it would be weeks before we hear more.

Parks and Recreation may be a little frustrated with our persistence, but we really have to stay in this conversation and continue to present and re-present the communities' needs. We know they have their work but again what we represent is a big helping hand with that work because we are saving them the grief of making a large and costly mistake that we would have to live with for a very long time. 

Overall, we are feeling pretty good about our process of advancing this issue and we have so many of you to thank for helping us do this. Coco Morales joined us at the meeting on Monday to give an international perspective (he is from the great island of Puerto Rico), and we are encouraging anyone else to join us at any of these meetings; we are basically going to all the Parks and Rec meetings and all the City Council meetings as well to keep our perspective as the dominant one.
