REMEMBER:

1.) The Community that will be using Westover Skatepark is unanimous in the belief that it can and should be rebuilt out of concrete by a reputable contractor and NOT American Ramp Company. 

2.) The contract or agreement with American Ramp Company should be breached. We anxiously await City Attorney Chris Brown's insight on this issue and how it will affect funding for Westover Skatepark. 

3.) It is not in the community's best interest to build a metal skatepark, when that will be a downgrade from the park that was just bulldozed. We want to respect these public funds by doing a true revamp and reimagining of Westover; the budget will allow it. What we do not want to do is simply rebuild an inferior design that is outdated by two decades, and then build it out of a less safe, less feasible and less fun material; it makes no sense.

4.) If American Ramp Company has provided the City with a plan of any kind for Westover Skatepark at this point, we would like to see that plan. If there is a contract we would like to see it. If there was an RFP put out for this skatepark we would like to see it. This will determine important next steps.

5.) Our goal is to see these funds deliver our community a beautiful and fun skatepark made out of concrete that will last us for many years to come. We are not interested in pointing fingers or trying to blame City Staff or their advisors; we just want to help where we can see our help is needed. The fact remains, the City got off track with what was best, but it is not too late to right the course. We are faced with problems, but they remain solvable. Let's make this a grand slam for City Council, Parks and Rec, the skateboard community and the community at large; regardless of who hit the home run, we will all score and WIN!
