My dear friend and stalwart companion Jeff Herzog passed away a week ago, September 20th. We worked together for a dozen years, sharing the vision of the Biodome tropical oasis.
Jeff was the Student Biodome Project’s longtime official Community Liaison. He attended weekly meetings helping guide students designing the tropical oasis. He was the advisor to the Flora and Fauna Team, developing a plant compendium, plans for fish and frogs in the pond, and ambience of the nature immersion experience. He networked with community groups and garnered donations. For public outreach events, he was invaluable, moving materials, setting up and manning our displays. His natural social ease made him a beloved mentor, inspiring a passion for life, and intellectual curiosity. He was the students’ favorite.
