To the Supporters of Tanglewood Linear Park,
175 days of fighting. 175 days of waiting.
Let's talk numbers. Our cause has been viewed nearly 10,000 times. A dedicated core of 67 promoters has led to 251 shares. 685 of you have signed your name and demanded action. And, the last signature was 4 days ago.
This is the slowdown the county is counting on. They are waiting for us to get tired. They are waiting for our momentum to die. They are betting that our anger will fade.
We are here to tell them they are dead wrong.
We applaud our allies on the Village Council who are fighting for us: Mayor Karyn Cunningham, Councilmember Patrick Fiore, and Councilmember Steve Cody. They listened to the people. They voted to secure this public land for public use.
Shame on Merwitzer and Mast pushing a sweetheart deal for private use (your day will come soon enough).
But the voices of residents is being ignored in a bureaucratic black hole at Miami-Dade County.
The silence and inaction from Commissioner Danielle Cohen Higgins is an insult to our entire community.
It’s time to remind them what real people-power looks like. It's time for an overwhelming show of force.
Our first mission: CRASH the 1,000-supporter milestone. We only need 315 more signatures to send an undeniable message. Remember: petitions with 1,000+ supporters are 5x more likely to win!
Here is how we get there and force their hand:
- TURN 10,000 VIEWS INTO 1,000 SIGNATURES: The interest is there. Now we must convert it into action. Your new mission is to not just share this petition, but to get at least one other person to sign it. Your spouse, your neighbor, your friend. If each of us does that, we will shatter our goal today.
- MAKE THE PHONES RING OFF THE HOOK: We need to make it impossible for them to work until they address our demands. Bombard Commissioner Cohen Higgins' office at (305) 378-6677 or stop in 14707 S Dixie Hwy, Palmetto Bay. Tell them 685 people are waiting. Tell them we won't stop until we get our park. Ask them: "Why are you ignoring the will of Palmetto Bay?"
- EXPOSE THE STALL TACTIC ONLINE: Flood the account of @daniellecohenhiggins Use the hashtag #GreenlightTanglewoodPark. Say: "Almost 10,000 views and 685 supporters are demanding Tanglewood Park. Why are you stalling? 175 days of waiting."
Do not let our momentum fade. Do not let their inaction win. Let's turn our collective anger into overwhelming action and prove that our voices will not be ignored.
