Dear Neighbors,
A chain-link fence now obstructs the 141st Street utility easement—a green corridor many of us envisioned as a future public park and safe community pathway.
This land was intended for all residents, not to be walled off for private benefit.
Without public hearing, notice, or input, access to this space has been denied.
Even worse, our own Village Attorney allowed it to happen.
What’s at Stake:
- Loss of Public Access to a utility easement and proposed park space.
- Erosion of Trust in Village leadership and legal counsel.
- Safety Concerns due to restricted access for utilities and emergency services.
This fence represents more than just metal and wire–it’s a message that says residents don’t matter. It’s a decision that puts private interests over public good.
It’s a failure of leadership — and one we will NOT ignore.
We’re calling on all residents to stand together and demand answers:
Who approved this fence and why?
Why weren’t we told?
What legal advice did the Village Attorney give, and why didn’t he protect us?
Now, join us in writing to the Miami Herald to demand a full investigation and accountability, including the removal of those responsible.

This is our Village. And we’re not backing down.
With resolve,
