What's BikeSpot?
BikeSpot is an interactive platform that allows users to add safe or unsafe spots for cycling to map of Australia. These spots determine which streets and areas are in the most need of improvement and help to inform state and local government decisions around cycling infrastructure.
In the interim results, Johnston St has been flagged as #8 of the top 10 unsafe spots for cycling in Melbourne. Help us keep it in the top 10 in the final results.
Along with our petition numbers, this will help me show the Victorian Department of Transport and Planning that there is strong community support for this project when I meet with them in the coming weeks.
What can I do to help?
- Mark Johnston Street as an "unsafe spot" on BikeSpot.org or ask a friend or family member to do so. Write about your experience in the comments including any near misses or crashes.
- Ask a friend, family member, neighbour or colleague to sign the petition to help get us to 2000 signatures
- Share the petition in your community, uni/TAFE or apartment building's Facebook Group
- Follow and share our Instagram account @BikeLanes4JohnstonSt
- DM me for a PDF of a poster for your work or apartment building's bike room or I can print one out for you if you live locally
