Thank you for all you have done so far. I know a lot of you have shared the petition with friends and family. We are currently at 431 and well on our way to 500! We have fantastic momentum and with your support we can keep it up.
We've set up a donation page at GiveButter. We chose this platform because they do not charge us any fees. Please give what you can. Everything, big or small, helps tremendously.
Pop-up Skateshop and Volunteer Opportunity:
Coming up on August 1, 2026 we are going to have a pop-up skateshop at Beyond the Bar with Cortez Skateshop featuring: Super 8 Skateboards and NOW Skateboards.
Olympian, Will Cortez, will be giving free skate lessons and we will have a mini ramp set up for some fun time, good time.
We're teaming up with Bridge the Gap for Kids to collect school supply donations for RISD students in need.
Support is provided by Richardson Bicycle Coalition and cold af drinks will be provided by Beyond the Bar.
On August 8th will be volunteering at the RISD Backpack Bash at MST. If you would like to volunteer let us know by emailing us at richardsonskatepark@gmail.com.
Richardson Skatepark News:
Mayor Amir Omar has identified a spot that we may be able to use for a temporary skate spot. It is approximately 7500 square feet and would require the entire area to be graded and paved. We are currently getting quotes for how much it would cost to get a slab of this size poured. Rough estimates put it at $67, 500, on the low end. Please give us a donation to get us started.
