Have received an update from Cr Gail O'Neill and things are looking promising. She assures me that there will be a Tugun pump track constructed this financial year and asked me to share her messaging.

Tugun Pump Track FY26/27

Please find attached High-level Concept Design with direction for Junior Intermediate and Advanced sections.

  • We hope to award by Sept 2026
  • Public Consultation Oct 2026
  • Construction early 2027

Overview

  • The proposed Betty Diamond Sports Complex Park Pump Track will transform the current BMX jumps into a vibrant riding destination for all ages and abilities, with the Junior track & direction highlighted with green arrows the Intermediate with blue arrows and Advanced with yellow arrows
  • Located behind the popular Tugun Skate Park, the new pump track will create an exciting recreation hub within the park, offering a fun and active space for the whole community.
  • Designed for everyone—from young children on balance bikes to BMX riders, scooter users, and skateboarders—the track will provide a safe, flowing environment to build skills, confidence, and enjoy outdoor activity.
  •  This upgraded facility will strengthen an already popular community gathering place, creating more opportunities for families and friends to ride together, connect, and make lasting memories.
  • The Betty Diamond Sports Complex Pump Track will bring energy, fun, and active recreation to the heart of the community.

It's imperative that the local community makes their voices heard via feedback at the Public Consultation this October, as there are plenty of potential issues to weed out (parking, safe crossing etc). Will keep you informed via this page.

She has also advised that the GCCC does not accept online petitions, but I will keep this active to help gain momentum and keep you all informed.
